Perfect Dry Storage for 3D Printing Filament

If like me your into your 3D Printing then you will know its an absolute must to keep your 3D printing filament dry, some of you may use a dryer before loading up the filament, or even feed the filament directly from the dryer into the printer.

I cannot be alone in having loads of part rolls of open filament around the place, and dry storage has always been a pain, well a recent Facebook post in one of the 3D printing groups led me to a quiet brilliant also cheap solution to the old problem of storing 3d printer filament.

Even though the room I keep my 3D Printers and my filament in is air conditioned I still struggle with filament storage as much from the perspective of actually storing it and stacking it as keeping it dry and usable sometimes for quite long periods of time whilst i use up rolls I don’t use very often. Which is why i loved this idea as soon as I saw it.

Dry Storage for your 3D Printer Filament

A simple, cheap and elegant solution to storing your 3d printer filament from PLA & PETG to ASA and ABS filaments, these containers are cheap, stackable and most of all once you add in a couple of silica sachets they are nice and dry too.

A cheap and efficient solution to a problem we all face with our 3D printers, and yes you will probably still want to use a filament dryer, but with should cut down the time you need to dry your filament for and the biggest bonus for me was the ability to stack the containers, having picked up many a toppled pile of filament reels off the floor.

The containers themselves are big enough for most common filament reels easily taking all of my SunLu, Prusament and BambuLabs filament reels with room to spare (if you do come across any that don’t fit then please let me know and I will add the information in here).

I will drop another post later with some of the other great hacks I have come across and some of the other tools I have found come in handy when i am 3D printing and modelling, either stuff you can print yourself or things you could do with buying to add to your arsenal and make your life easier.

If you have any other great filament storage solutions, or other hacks to make your 3D printing life easier then drop a comment below and i might just give it whirl and feature it on my pages.
